Where it all started

CommandCentr was born at the frontline of one of the UK’s leading parks.

When outdated paper processes and spreadsheets were holding Paultons Park back, they called on us to create the first purpose-built platform to solve their real-world operational problems.

Instead of just another generic platform or repurposed tool, CommandCentr was built from the ground up to simplify daily ops, reduce downtime, and improve safety.

It’s used by the world’s busiest parks, including Merlin group, Parque Warner, and Paultons Park.

Evolving with parks just like yours

Purpose built

First Option Software begins work with Paultons Park to build a dedicated operations management system tailored to their real-world park needs. This world-first platform would become CommandCentr.

Feb 2020

First live launch

CommandCentr goes live at Paultons Park for February half-term. It immediately saves 2 weeks of admin, eliminates paper training records, and gives team leaders back an hour a day through automatic ride data tracking. The leadership team gets real-time visibility for the very first time.

Market debut

CommandCentr is launched as a dedicated SaaS product against the backdrop of a worldwide pandemic. Despite the uncertainty of 2020, the platform made waves and ops leaders quickly recognised the potential.

Group pilot begins

Selected for a pilot at Legoland Windsor Resort during the Covid pandemic, the CommandCentr team works remotely with Merlin Entertainments to successfully launch a dedicated Manager App with live operational insights, alert tools, and a real-time help request feature.

Results at scale

Within four months of a full rollout at Legoland Windsor, the park enjoys a 10% increase in rides per guest, and a significant reduction in ride downtime.

Major upgrades

A major upgrade adds tools to boost efficiency and streamline workflows, including downtime checks, ride position swaps, new data metrics, document handling, and richer training content. The platform was successfully rolled out to other Merlin sites, as well as international parks including Flamingoland and Ferrari World.

Beyond the rides

CommandCentr evolves into a full resort ops platform. Teams can now manage operations across rides, retail and F&B. Automatic data capture integration rolls out at multiple parks around the world.

CommandCentr is shortlisted for ‘Best Product Innovation’ at the Park World Excellence Awards 2023, alongside IAAPA Europe Expo in Vienna.

Enhanced training

An enhanced digital-only training system is launched, introducing more rich media and features like on-ride training, quizzes, and refresher courses. Training-based permissions are baked in, meaning only qualified staff can operate rides.

What exactly is CommandCentr?

CommandCentr is the first all-in-one operations platform built specifically for theme parks. It handles everything from daily park ops to training, downtime tracking, and frontline performance.

How is it different from other operations tools?

Most tools are generic, or adapted from other industries. CommandCentr is different, because it was built with real parks to solve real-world park-specific problems. It replaces the disconnected tools, paperwork and spreadsheets with a unified platform that’s perfect whether you’re running a family-owned park, or an international multi-site group.

Does it work offline or in zones with poor signal?

Yes. We know the realities of theme parks mean perfect internet isn’t a given. That’s why CommandCentr was designed to keep working in low- or poor-signal areas. Your team can still log checks, record downtime, or view key tasks when offline. Everything syncs automatically as soon as the signal is regained, giving you peace of mind.

Can CommandCentr scale across multiple parks or sites?

Of course. CommandCentr was designed for parks of all sizes. You’ll have the tools to set group-wide standards, with the flexibility to adapt what’s needed, like workflows, permissions, training, or signage. It’s built to scale, which means it grows with you, whether you run one site, or twenty.
